Pocket Watch Parts & Porcelain Doll Heads

My monthly studio cleaning- you know-when I have to get rid of a few things in order to acquire a few more...I just listed some pocket watch parts and antique German doll parts in Mike's Etsy shop...
This old relic, with the crude inscription "Founded 1929 by Mahlon Lowell" has such a "To Kill a Mockingbird" vibe.
I love the old pocket watch frames- use to frame a photo or small stitched sampler.....

I love this little Shamrock lady- I've never seen one like her......
I'll be listing more doll parts all week so check back!

Studio Cleaning....

I'll be listing a lot of antique German porcelain doll parts in Mike's Etsy shop over the next few days. My studio is bursting at the seams! I seemed to have acquired a lot over the past few years and I'm trying to stay a little more focused on my new projects. Also look for some extra pocket watch parts, and other vintage goodies.
It's really hard for me to part with these, but I can't keep everything in my tiny little studio. I know, I know- these are all small pieces.... but I have hundreds (literally). I hope I live long enough to make everything I want to make!
How cute are these little legs! Should I keep them? See- it's hard to let go of these things. Unless I decide to keep everything, you'll find these antique doll parts and more here.
Hopefully after I've cleaned up my next post will be new work!

Etsy Treasury West- Tickets & Tokens

Here's a really great Etsy Treasury list from thepairabirds featuring my vintage bus tokens.  Titled Tickets and Tokens, it features some great finds!
I love the ring & paperclips.  You can buy your own tokens in Mike's shop- BigDaddyO's.
Hope you're having a great weekend!  Go Ohio State!

Vintage Tokens

I just listed some extra vintage train & bus tokens in Mike's shop.  Some railroad, some bus, great stuff.  More listings all week in BigDaddyO's shop.
These are fun to use as charms, and of course I bought WAY more than I can ever use.
I LOVE these.  Coming soon- vintage religious medals.  I went through my giant stash and will be listing those next week.  Stay tuned!

Forgotten Treasures- Tiny Antique German Bisque Dolls

I am so in love with these.  Most of you know the story- read this previous post if not. What I love about them is they're not "frozen"- their arms & legs move.  They have so much character & life.  AND they're only 2" tall!
So precious, they remind me of tiny marionettes.  I can authenticate their origin, but I'm still unclear if the arms & legs were attached more recently.  The wire doesn't show the signs of rust & age that 100 year old dolls would show.
I'm not a doll collector so that doesn't really matter to me.  I'm just so happy they have limbs!  And they can sit up.  The frozen charlottes I have been working with were starting to depress me a little- but I still find them so fascinating.
Some doll faces still scare me a little so I might be selling a few.  (Long before the Chucky movies, I saw an old Night Gallery in the 70's about a doll that came to life and it's been in my nightmares ever since)

Seedling- Etsy Treasury

You probably all know by now how I love little collections of things-  so I put a few of these little collections together to sell (in Mike's shop).  An INSTANT collection of vintage glass seed beads & another of vintage sequins & pailettes- all tucked away in antique watch maker's vials.
The seed bead collection is now featured in an Etsy Treasury- seedling- by buppins.
I especially love the sequin collection- quite a treasure. I've been searching & collecting these for years, but only use a pinch at a time, mostly in my textile work.  So- it was time to share.  I'll be putting a few more of these together soon.

Tomorrow I'm so excited to show off my newest find-  Tiny 2" jointed German porcelain dolls!!  (not the frozen Charlotte variety) These will sit & the arms move- truly forgotten treasures!  I'll share more tomorrow.

Vintage Treasures- Sequins & Beads

I'm a collector of many things including vintage beads & sequins.  I spent some time organizing my sequin collection, and I put these little collections together to sell in Mike's Etsy shop.
I love that these look like paint boxes- a little box of treasures.  These are a result of years of collecting....The vintage sequin collection has 36 glass vials in their original watch maker's box- with a variety of colors & sizes of old sequins & pailettes.
The vintage seed bead collection has 24 glass vials full of little vintage glass seed beads.  You can see them here.

Old Things Make Me Happy Too!

I had to share this Etsy treasury list before it expires tonite.  Vintage Rerun put this lovely list of vintage finds together.  I tried to buy a few items but they were already sold :(
bontonvintage's vintage typewriter keys sold quick!
This is just part of the list....
Just look at this restored 1938 Art Deco phone!  It works!  You can see it here at NostalgicMeditations shop.
And how about these vintage bingo balls?  They're from tippleandsnack's shop.

Fun stuff!  I almost forgot to mention one of Mike's BigDaddyO's vintage watch parts tins is also featured in this list.  More soon....

BigDaddyO's Etsy Treasury List

I tease Mike all the time that his humble shop never makes any Etsy Treasury lists.  I just stumbled on this one- titled "alice in springland"- featuring beautiful Alice in Wonderland themed items- and one of his pocket watches.
You can see the entire list here.  The list was created by robinandthesage from Finland.  Her shop is stunning- with bird & nature-inspired jewelry.  You can also see Mike's shop here- I just put together a new banner for him from some of last weekend's treasure hunting.
