I should have been working on a commission today (sorry Emma!) but kept getting distracted by yesterday's post on Rebecca Sowers' blog. I'm joining her in scattering hearts all over our cyber-world. I stitched my heart on linen, with an old Japanese glass heart and antique lace, set in an old pocket watch frame.
These 2 rocks are among my most prized possessions. Given to me by my young son, he found them in a nearby stream. He came home that day, so excited by his treasures, and told me to close my eyes and open my hands. He placed them in my hands and simply said-
"I love you with all my heart"
So it is those simple words spoken by an 8 year old, and 2 found treasures that inspire me and lift my spirits when I'm down.
Have a wonderful weekend!
The heart in the old pocket watch is beautiful!, and the story of the rocks is wonderful :)

ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful.
ReplyDeletePocket-watch frame--cool idea! What a sweet boy. I love for little boys to love their mothers. They make good husbands and daddys. I have two sons and 8 grandsons and I still carry around in my Bible little notes from my once-little sons. Precious treasures.
ReplyDeleteOh the stitched heart is fabulous and the story of your heart rocks is doubly so! Thanks for sharing! I am so inspired by Rebecca and all her Heart Sessions!

Oh My Goodness!!! The heart-rock story just melted MY heart! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBless him - these boys they just get it so right sometimes don't they? When my son, then aged eleven, came home from a week away with his school he got off the coach and I felt like his hug melted into me. He handed me a mother of pearl shell which he had spent all his spending money on. I was speechless.
ReplyDeleteYour heart is stunning
